But what has happened in the last two or three decades is more important than simply being the result of the dynamics of capitalist mode of production. While any description or theorizing about these processes in a context apart from the capitalist context and ignoring capitalist social relations will not give a proper explanation. By considering and applying these facts, Manuel Castells seems to have been able to provide a good description and explanation of the technological changes of the contemporary world and its effects on society, economics, culture, politics, and the institution of the nation-state. His fundamental hypothesis is that informationism, as a dominant paradigm in today's societies, has led to a new morphology and social structure, resulting in a new society: network society. According to Castells in contemporary society and the world, the presence of networks can be seen everywhere. While introducing two fundamental concepts of society and network globalization in Castells' thoughts, this paper attempts to examine the politicized dimensions of his analysis of society and network globalization.
