International Relations Researches

Peer Review Process

The Quarterly Journal of International Relations Researches follows a structured and transparent process for manuscript submission, review, and acceptance, ensuring the highest standards of academic quality and integrity.

  1. Manuscript Submission:

    • Manuscripts must be submitted exclusively through the journal's online submission system.

    • Submissions should follow the Author Guidelines and include two separate files:

      • The main manuscript without author-identifying information

      • A metadata file containing the full manuscript along with complete author details on the first page

  2. Initial Editorial Review:

    • The editor evaluates the manuscript for scope, alignment with the journal's objectives, and initial scientific and editorial quality.

    • This stage typically takes up to 4 weeks, and the outcome (acceptance or rejection) is communicated to the authors.

  3. Peer Review:

    • Manuscripts that pass the initial review are sent to at least two expert reviewers.

    • Reviews are conducted in a double-blind format to ensure impartiality and fairness.

    • In case of conflicting reviewer opinions, a third reviewer may be assigned.

  4. Review Outcomes:
Following peer review, the editor-in-chief, in consultation with the editorial board, makes the final decision. Possible outcomes include:

    • Accepted without revision: The manuscript is published without changes.

    • Accepted with minor revisions: Authors must make minor changes as suggested by reviewers within a specified timeframe.

    • Accepted with major revisions: Publication is conditional on substantial revisions according to reviewers’ and/or editor’s recommendations.

    • Resubmission (Conditional Rejection): The manuscript is not accepted in its current form but may be reconsidered after major revisions.

    • Final Rejection: The manuscript is not suitable for publication and will not be reconsidered even after revision.

  5. Timeline of the Process:

    • Initial editorial review: approximately 2–4 weeks

    • Peer review and final decision: on average 12 weeks, up to 30 weeks

  6. Manuscript Tracking:

    • Authors can track the status of their submission online via the journal’s submission system.

    • Manuscripts sent via email to editorial board members will not be considered.

  7. Quality Assurance and Ethical Standards:

    • All reviews adhere strictly to COPE guidelines for ethical publishing.

    • This process ensures that accepted manuscripts meet the journal’s highest standards of scientific rigor and research quality.
